Yeah, yeah, I know it is March already, but since I like to post these at the end of the month, and am a month or two behind...
Believe it or not, we are pretty far along making UT3 playable. As far as the basic gameplay goes, we are pretty much just tweaking things and fixing bugs at this point. The last thing I was working on was a basic UI, and to do that I have been converting CB3 to a full blow mod (where as CB2 and the initial CB3 pre-alpha was really just a custom gametype). I have not spent as much time on UT3 as I would like, not really done much at all, since December. I have had a series of important deadlines at work (long hours), plus I have had a few consulting projects ongoing; I have dedicate time to the stuff that pays the bills, and although I love CarBall, it doesn't bring me in any income. Both Demon and SS have been a tremendous help over the last few months.
Now a bit of sad news. UrDaddy has removed himself from active status on the Dev Team due to real life commitments. Everyone here should wish him well. Although we don't fault UD's decision in the least, this unfortunate situation has created a issue with CB3's development, as I relied heavily on UD for organization, and he ran out beta testing.
Also, the Dev Team simply does not have the art support it really needs to finish/polish CB3. We desperately need someone who is familiar with editing/creating UT3 materials, and with managing the CB3 packages. My last time critical deadline at work is at the end of the month, so I should have lots of more free time by then. I am hoping to be able to get back to working heavily on CB3 sometime this month.
